IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – June 13, 2012 Meeting
Members present at this meeting included Anne Carney, Lisa Miller , Stacy Connor, Tawnya Anderson, Ron Anderson , Jennifer Harris, DJ Harris, Marissa Perzee, Cassandra Jacobs, Cindy Guttendorf, Kim Lund, Cliff Miller, Sony Sontayo, Melody Clark.
MINUTES: Members present reviewed the minutes from the May 9, 2012 meeting. Cindy moved to accept, Sony seconded, all in favor. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer’s report will be presented later in the meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Team Pictures: Team picture was presented to Sergio at Incobrasa. Sergio truly appreciated the picture and was very pleased with it. Jason Connor, Hans Meyer and Anne Carney delivered the picture.
Coaches Wish List: Mr. Meyer not in attendance.
Trophy Cases: Mr. Meyer not in attendance.
Sports Ads: Marissa gave an update. She explained that the first visit to the businesses was more of a reminder and then the cheerleaders did a return visit to follow-up and collect money. They have collected $2,875 so far. Several new businesses purchased ads. Compliments were given to the cheerleaders for the excellent job they did and the time they devoted to acquiring the ads.
Apparel Committee: The apparel committee gave no update as they were meeting after the regular booster meeting.
Track: The middle school track coaches were very appreciative of all that the boosters did for the athletes who went to the state track meet. One high school female track athlete qualified for state and she received a goody bag.
NEW BUSINESS
Rifle Team: The rifle team is taking seven students to nationals. It is a three-day event. The coach has asked for $50/team member to help cover expenses. Question was asked whether or not the seven were from Iroquois West or Clifton Central since Central co-ops on the rifle team. Discussion was held and determined that regardless, the IW Booster Club supports IW athletic teams and the rifle club is such team. DJ moved to donate $50/participant; Stacy seconded. Motion carried.
River Valley Senior Bowl: Tyler Clay will be participating in the River Valley Senior Bowl on June 16. He will be given recognition through an article in the newspaper.
Election of Officers: Booster members currently serving will continue in their respective positions.

Cindy moved to elect officers as currently serving; Cliff seconded. Motion carried.
Chairpersons for each sport must be assigned. Booster members need to recruit responsible nominees and should be prepared to make recommendations at the next meeting.
Booster Water: Stacy will meet with Frog Water Farms and inquire about delivery options, since their location has changed, and she will check on pricing. The water is needed by August 17.
With the treasurer now in attendance, the meeting shifted to the Treasurer’s report. Treasurer’s report was reviewed. Jennifer moved to approve; Marissa seconded the motion. Motion carried.
In addition to chairpersons for each sport, additional people are needed for several areas of responsibility. Those areas were discussed and volunteers assigned as follows:

Popcorn Donations: Lisa Miller
Popcorn Bags: Lisa Miller , Anne Carney (State Farm)
Napkin Donations: Stacy Connor

Big Projects Wish List was not discussed in Mr. Meyer’s absence.
ROUND TABLE:
Anne will research and bring information back to the group regarding decals for the businesses who bought sports ads. Consensus was that it sounds like a good idea.
Marissa moved to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.
