IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – February 12, 2014 Meeting
Members present included Anne Carney, Matt Clark, Melody Clark, Stacy Connor, Doug Miller.
MINUTES: Members present reviewed the minutes from the January 2014 meeting. Matt moved to approve the minutes. Melody seconded; all in favor. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Matt Clark presented the treasurer’s report. The middle school will provide more information with their deposits. Mr. Ehmen used the popcorn machine for a middle school function. Matt asked him to make a donation to the Booster Club for what he thought it was worth. Melody moved to approve; Jill seconded. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
REITZ FAMILY DONATION: Melody spoke with Coach Waz about the tunnel and the play clock. Gloria would like the donation to be named in honor of Don. Anne spoke with Mr. Meyer about the play clock and a new scoreboard overall. This may be added to the wish list. Boosters agreed to revisit the picnic table idea which was originally suggested by Gloria. The tunnel is no longer an option. Melody will email Mr. Dukes, Mr. Meyer and Coach Waz to inquire about the tables. We will need permission to do a permanent fixture at the south end.
SUNKEN GARDENS: Mike Carney will solidify contract with Lavicka. The bid is now $6,000. Matt moved to approve the bid from Lavicka with the understanding the work will be done in the fall after football 2014. Melody seconded. Motion carried.
BASEBALL CONCESSIONS: Clarks and Carneys will co-chair baseball concessions this spring.
COACHES APPRECIATION: The dinner will be March 29 at Shagbark. The menu selection was determined. Two drink coupons will be provided. The invitations will be emailed this year. Matt will speak at the dinner for boosters. Stacy will do quotes for tables.
NEW BUSINESS
WINTER SPORTS BANQUET: Anne will order cookies. Matt has the drinks on hand. Matt will pick up the cookies at K&H and Hometown. Anne, Matt, Melody, Jill and Doug will be there.
COMMITTEE FOR AD SALES: Mike, Matt and Anne will meet to determine guidelines for ad sales. Matt and Mike will work with football this spring. Anne will notify Coach Waz.
ROUND TABLE:
Question was asked how could families do personal ads in the sports program. Suggestion to incorporate an ad with the 3 point club. Boosters determined the 3 point club and the touchdown club need to be marketed at registration. A paper will be put in the registration packets which should include information for parents about a personal ad.
GUESTS:
Doug Miller asked if the rifle club pizza party could be at the Pizza Palace in Ashkum. Request approved. Doug will pay for it and then submit for reimbursement.
