Minutes: Special Meeting, March 2015

IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – March 2, 2015 Meeting

Members present included Anne Carney, Mike Carney, Matt Clark, Melody Clark, Stacy Connor, Cathy Crego, Heather Frank, Jill Cultra, Coach Jim Miller, Doug Miller, Coach Barkley, Coach Wazilewski and Coach Arie.


GILMAN VP:  Marissa Perzee resigned from her position of Gilman VP.   Heather Frank was nominated as the new Gilman VP.   Melody seconded.   All in favor.

WEIGHT ROOM:   Boosters reviewed quotes for the rubber floor and the bid for removing the old floor.  Questions were asked by Booster members if any high school activity funds would be available to assist with this project. Extensive discussion took place regarding the amount the Boosters could donate and still be able to function as an organization to serve our student-athletes, coaches and athletic teams.

Matt Clark moved for the Boosters to commit to providing up to $41,100 to be used to repair the small gym floor so that it can be used as a weight room, which includes the cost of the rubber padding; contingent upon the following items occurring:   written acknowledgment from an anonymous donor committing $15,000 in funds and the time frame to receive said funds; a commitment from the Board of Education that our funds will be utilized within the scope of the project and not outside of that; and that the BOE will give a commitment to dedicate the space as a weight room/rifle range for 10 years or provide an equivalent space.    Included in this motion, Boosters agreed that payments will be paid from invoices and will not be paid prior to June 1, 2015.    Jill seconded the motion.   All in favor.

FAN BUS:   Matt moved to donate $250 toward a fan bus used for the girls’ basketball state tournament.   Doug seconded.   All in favor.   Matt requested that “Donations to Fan Buses” be put on the agenda for the next meeting to determine a standard method of requesting assistance for fan buses.
