OLD BUSINESS
WEIGHT ROOM: PSI will begin work on June 3, estimating three weeks of work. The project should be done by July 4th. The Rifle Club will have to redirect their shot direction. Coach Jim Miller estimates costs under $300 and asked if the Booster Club will help. This item will be added to May’s agenda.
CHAIRPERSONS: Apparel Chairperson and Golf Outing Chairperson are still open. The apparel chair keeps track of inventory, setting it up and taking it down at football games. Mr. Dukes mentioned that the new business teacher may be interested in the future. Heather Frank is willing to be on the apparel committee. Coach Arie and Coach Barkley volunteered to select the apparel. We will continue to sell out of the old inventory. We will work through the change this year. Heather moved for the Booster Club to work with Coach Arie and Coach Barkely on the apparel committee and allow them to do the selection and ordering. Proceeds from the new apparel and inventoried apparel will go to the Booster Club. The Booster Club will continue to ask for volunteers to sell current inventory. (This is a change from the way the prior apparel committees have operated. The Booster Club will work with Coaches Arie and Barkley through this transition.)
CONCESSION PRICING: Boosters revisited concession stand pricing. Those present agreed to keep current pricing for pop at $1 for the 12 oz. cans; water will now be purchased from Best Supermarket with the understanding it will be a recognizable brand and will be the 16.9 oz. bottles with a sale price of $1; candy will stay at $1.25; and Powerade will stay at $2.
NEW BUSINESS
DONATION TO YEARBOOK: In the past, the Booster club has donated $500 to the yearbook club for helping with the sports’ programs. Jill moved to donate $500 to yearbook club; Cathy seconded. All in favor.
ADDITIONAL TROPHY CASE: Boosters have been asked if they will contribute toward a smaller trophy case to hold the 2015 girls’ basketball state trophy. It will be similar to the case that holds the football state championship trophy. John Zirkle submitted a bid for $1,788. The tournament fund will pay half. Coach Arie asked if the Booster club will donate half as well. The school would like to see it completed before registration in August. Cathy moved to pay for ½ of the $1,700 cost of the trophy case; Stacy seconded. All in favor.
ROUND TABLE
Question asked why IW is the only school that charges for JV football games. Mr. Dukes stated that Mr. Meyer believes other schools will be charging in the future.
The name plates on the picnic tables need to be sealed again. Stacy will ask Jason Ahlden to reapply the adhesive.
Incobrasa was willing to donate fuel. However, there are not as many JV baseball/softball games as originally anticipated, so it will not be necessary for them to provide fuel at this time. We will ask them again in the future.
Coaches’ appreciation dinner will be April 11.
Mike moved to adjourn.
Next Meeting: May 13, 2015 at IWHS at 7:00 pm
