IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – September 2, 2015 Meeting
Members present included Anne Carney, Melody Clark, Ginger Meyer, Stacy Connor, Doug Miller, Jim Miller, Lisa McMillan, Heather Frank, Donna Curtis, Mr. Houberg, and Mr. Ehmen.
MINUTES: August 2015 minutes were reviewed. Doug Miller moved to approve the minutes; Melody seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Anne presented the treasurer’s report, in Cathy’s absence, for the month of August. Anne noted that the invoices for the weight room floor totaled $43,106. The booster donation authorized up to $41,100 and remains unchanged. Doug moved to approve the treasurer’s report, Heather seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
HOMECOMING: The booster float will be the Carney’s golf cart. Anne and Jason Connor will ride.
UNIFORMS UPDATE: Mr. Ehmen presented the boys’ basketball uniforms invoices. This year the middle school will do track uniforms. Mr. Ehmen said they spent $4,000 last year.
CONCESSIONS FOR POWDER PUFF: Melody, Lisa and Morgan are available for working concessions.
BRICKS FUNDRAISER: Stacy gave an update. Stacy will contact the Gilman Star about doing a write up on this topic. Suggestion made to have it announced during games.
GUESTS
Donna Curtis and Lisa McMillan were welcomed as new members.
NEW BUSINESS
DONATION TO GOLF TEAM: Melody moved to donate $500 to the golf team for helping with ad sales. Heather seconded; all in favor. It was noted that special thanks were given to Jill Cultra for being the ad sales liaison.
ROUND TABLE:
Question was asked if an ad could be added to the winter program. ($75 level) This should be possible. Question was asked if winter athletes will be allowed to place senior ads for the winter program or were they already contacted before the fall programs were printed. Anne will check with Jill on this matter.
Mr. Ehmen made a formal statement thanking the IW Booster Club for the banners hung at the middle school. He said everyone is enjoying them and very appreciative. (NOTE: The meeting was held at the middle school this month so boosters could see the new banners. All were pleased with the banners, hung in the gymnasium, representing the various sports.)
Doug moved to adjourn.
