IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – October 14, 2015 Meeting

Members present included Anne Carney, Cathy Crego, Stacy Connor, Doug Miller, Lisa McMillan, Heather Frank, Trixie Pankey, Juli Curtis, Coach Arie, and Coach Waz.

MINUTES:   September 2015 minutes were reviewed.  Doug Miller moved to approve the minutes; Cathy seconded, all in favor – motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Cathy presented the treasurer’s report for the month of September.  Heather moved to approve the treasurer’s report, Doug seconded, all in favor – motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

BRICKS FUNDRAISER:   Stacy gave an update.   The article was printed in the Gilman Star.

GUESTS

Juli Curtis and Trixie Pankey were welcomed as new members.

NEW BUSINESS     

REQUEST FROM VOLLEYBALL TEAM:    Mr. Meyer approved the submitted request from the volleyball team asking for reimbursement for a “spike trainer.”   Andy McCann constructed the trainer and is requesting $300 for reimbursement for materials.   To purchase a new one would have been $1,500 or more.   Heather moved to reimburse Mr. McCann $300; Cathy seconded; all in favor.

OUTDOOR CONCESSION STAND:  Volunteers are needed to clean out outdoor concession stand.   The last outdoor activity is October 24.   Clean out will be Wednesday, October 28 at 6 pm.

SUNKEN GARDENS:   Fertilizer and grass seed are needed for parts of the sunken gardens.   Coach Waz will work with Mike Carney and see if they need to contact Robi Sanchez for equipment.  Doug moved to authorize spending up to $150 for fertilizer, straw, seed, etc.  Stacy seconded; all in favor.

FALL SPORTS AWARD NIGHT:   Awards night for fall sports is November 5.   Anne will order cookies; Stacy will pick them up; Anne will ask Matt if he will get the drinks.

BASKETBALL CHAIRPERSONS:   The junior class will have boys’ basketball concessions.   If no one volunteers for girls’ basketball, Anne and Jill will co-chair.   The football team will work the Saturday games for Holiday Hoops.

ROUND TABLE:

Middle school cross country team placed high enough to go to the state competition.  Heather will get powerade and energy bars and will get them to Mrs. Meyer at the middle school.

Several IW fans have noticed fence inserts at some area schools.   The inserts can be customized with words, logos and a variety of color options.   Estimated cost may be $300-$500.   Discussed maybe getting it for next year to place on the north fence.

Heather mentioned that Ginger Meyer has been handling the girls’ basketball concessions at the middle school and Heather will handle the concession for boys’ basketball.
