IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – November 18, 2015 Meeting
Members present included Anne Carney, Mike Carney, Matt Clark, Melody Clark, Doug Miller, Heather Frank, Cathy Crego, Stacy Connor.
MINUTES: November 2015 minutes were reviewed. Cathy moved to approve the minutes; Doug seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Cathy presented the treasurer’s report for the months of November and December. Melody moved to approve the treasurer’s reports, Matt seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
BRICKS FUNDRAISER: The bricks fundraiser is in process.

NEW BUSINESS
COACHES APPRECIATION DINNER: Possible dates are 4/2, 4/15 or 4/16.
BASEBALL CHAIRPERSON: If no one steps forward to be chairperson for the baseball season, concessions will be given to the school to assign to an organization.
CHECK/AD QUESTION: Gary Schmid from the Insurance Shop inquired about a check written to the booster club, asking whether it was for an ad in the sports’ program or for something else. Records were reviewed and it was determined the check was for the golf outing. Stacy will follow-up with Gary.
ADDITIONAL FOOD FOR CONCESSIONS: Anne was contacted by a member of the community who offered to cook hot dogs and sell them at girls’ basketball games. She offered to do the cooking and the selling. Boosters discussed adding items to the menu and also discussed that, in the past, hot dogs had not gone over well at indoor games. Booster do not wish to pursue selling hot dogs at basketball games. Anne will contact Mr. Houberg and discuss with him.
There was also a prior request from fans of another sport to be able to sell sandwiches at various games. Boosters discussed adding items to the menu and the challenges in having different items for different sports. A question was asked about liability, food and serving it from the concession stand. Stacy will ask Gary Schmid for details on the coverage of the Booster policy.
UPCOMING TOPICS: Anne listed upcoming events and challenges for boosters to be thinking about. The topics included:
New Officers/New Members
Sports Programs/Ad Sales
Outside Concession Stand Chairpersons (including Varsity Football, JV Football, Soccer)
Outside Concession Stand Stocker
ROUND TABLE:
Rifle club asked about lights. Anne explained that the request form must go through Hans Meyer and then comes to the Booster Club.
On Saturday (1/16) there are sixth grade basketball games at the middle school. Heather will run the concession stand.
The sound system at the middle school was discussed. The consensus is that an upgrade is needed. There are moments where it sounds good, but much of the time it cuts in and out and does not sound good. Anne will email Mr. Ehmen and remind him that the Booster Club has offered to help with this project.
