IW BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES – April 20, 2016 Meeting (Rescheduled due to FFA Banquet)
Members present included Anne Carney, Mike Carney, Melody Clark, Lisa McMillan, Heather Frank, Trixie Pankey, Jim Miller, Coach Waz and Stacy Connor.
MINUTES: March 2016 minutes were reviewed. Heather moved to approve the minutes; Melody seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Anne presented the treasurer’s report, in Cathy’s absence, for the month of March. Mike moved to approve the treasurer’s report, Melody seconded, all in favor – motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
BRICKS FUNDRAISER: Stacy gave an update. Boosters discussed various mounting options.
TENTS: Anne talked to Iroquois Print. Boosters will purchase the tent and then take to her to print on.
NEW BUSINESS
AD SALES: A liaison is needed for ad sales. Anne will check with the soccer coach to make sure soccer will be doing the ad sales for this year. Boosters may ask a soccer parent to be liaison. Coach Waz offered that the football or basketball team could help if soccer is unable to do so. Boosters are getting quotes for the printing of the programs.
SPRING SPORTS AWARDS BANQUET: Tuesday, May 31 @ 7:30 p.m. Trixie will pick up the cookies.
OFFICER ELECTIONS: Elections will be held at the Booster meeting in June. There are a number of offices open. If anyone is interested in an office, please encourage that person to talk to a current Booster Club member. The present Booster Club members discussed ways to encourage others to be involved.
ROUND TABLE:
The middle school cheerleaders have extra magnets for sale. Boosters agreed that the cheerleaders be allowed to sell them at registration.
Coach Waz shared that the football team did well selling hats.
Discussion held on the importance of Boosters raising money to help keep sports going. Discussion about what is happening at other schools as far as fees and uniforms.
Mike moved to adjourn.
